Help with school supplies for CCS

We are collecting backpacks and school supplies for about 45  4-5 year olds at Chugiak Children’s Services. Could you help by donating small back packs, notepaper, pencils, crayons, drawing paper and other school supplies for preschoolers? The donation box for the supplies is in main level coat room, labeled CCS. Thank you! In addition, the offering loose change will be used to support CCS and buy school supplies.

Hiring for Nursery workers

Please contact Tom McGregor or David Martin if you are interested in applying for either the Nursery Director or the Nursery Assistant position.  Applications are being taken now.  We also need volunteers to help staff the nursery when the regular employees are not available.

Love INC prayer requests

Please pray for these neighbors in need and pray that volunteers will come forward to serve them in the Name of Christ.

Praise God for the couple who gave birth to a healthy baby girl last week. (8052803)

Pray for a mother of two young children who needs protection from domestic abuse. (8071601)

A toddler bed is needed by a grandmother who is taking on the responsibility of raising her 2-year-old grandson. (8071501)

Pray for a young woman to recover from her grief through a Christian counselor.

Pray for the healthy recovery of a local pastor.

Do you like to help and encourage people?  Are you available on some Wednesdays or Thursdays between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm?  Then pray about serving through Love INC as an Intake Volunteer.

Mom and Me - July meeting place

Mom & Me playgroup will meet at the Alpenglow School Playground at 10 a.m. every Tuesday during July. Moms and preschool children, as well as older siblings, are invited. Call Beth Glass for more information.

Walk to Emmaus applications

Walk to Emmaus is an Upper Room program that calls forth and renews Christian discipleship. This is a three-day experience which takes a New Testament look at Christianity as a lifestyle. It is a highly structured weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people, and through them, their families, congregations and the world in which they live. Emmaus is a combined effort of laity and clergy toward the renewal of the church. Applications are available for the September 11-14, 2008 Walk to Emmaus at Birchwood Camp.
