Safe Sanctuaries Update
Staff Parish Relations Committee continues to work on our Safe Sanctuaries program. The next milestone is to complete arrangements for background checks on all our teachers and caregivers for children and youth before the July 21st start of Vacation Bible School. SPR is also planning for an adult discussion group or Sunday School class in the fall, to address our program and also the broader topic of protecting our kids from child abuse in community settings. (Do we recognize signs of child abuse? Know how to report child abuse when we witness it or reasonably suspect that it is taking place?)
SPR would like to hear any comments, concerns, questions, and suggestion about the program and about a class.
