Next three important dates-

Saturday, May 24th 12 Noon- all donated and loaned camping, cooking and construction gear due at church

Monday, May 26th 4PM- final meeting before going- health briefing, construction briefing

Saturday, May 31st 9PM- meet at church ready to go to the airport

The Youth are going to Mexico this summer with Amor Ministries to build houses. Pictures from our trip in 2006 are in the column at the right.

We asked the Youth why they went to Mexico in 2006, why they’re going in 2008, and why they come to Youth Group activities. Here are their answers~

Why did you go to Mexico (in 2006)?

“A new and interesting thing to do with my friends” Luke

“It helped with my Spanish and I could help others as well.” Scott

“Youth group was always fun and I had a lot of friends going.” Nancy

“To see how people really lived in Mexico.” Dan

“I wanted to help someone else, because helping is always… well usually, anyway… a cool thing in and of itself.” Ginny

“I wanted to help people, it was a way to spend more time with friends while doing something meaningful.” Melanie

Why are you going to Mexico this year (2008)?

“Because it was fun last time and I get more experiences with my friends” Luke

“ I had a blast last time and this time my awesome brother is coming, too.” Nancy

“ I have a lot of really good memories from last time.” Kris

“I’m going to Mexico this year to get the change to make a difference while having a great time with all my friends.” Rachel

“I’m going to Mexico because I hope to make a difference in the life of someone.” Emily Ann

“I wanted to go somewhere else, but going back will be fun because we know somewhat what we’ll be doing.” Ginny

Why do you come to UMYF?

“Get to be with my friends” Luke

“ Fun group of friends with fun activities.” Scott

“ It’s fun and I have a lot of friends here.” Nancy

“My brother’s here, my friends are here, and it’s fun to hang out.” Matthew

“I come to youth group to have fun with friends while learning about God.” Rachel

“I know people that go, and they invited me.” Robb

“Cool people are here and I get to be active with the church.” Keith

“It’s fun and I get to know more about God.” Carrie

“I come to youth group because my friends are here. It is a group that I feel good and accepted in, and sometimes it’s fun.” Adrianne

“My mom’s a leader, and I get to hang out with people I normally don’t, and let’s face it, who doesn’t love free food?” Ginny

“It is a fun activity that is safe and has people I know and enjoy being around. Plus it is a way for me to learn more about God.” Melanie

“To have fun and learn about God.” Evan

“Because I enjoy coming and enriching my faith.” Cathy

“Because it’s fun and it makes me feel closer to the church.” Amy
